1.   You may enter as many manuscripts as you wish as long as they correspond to the designated categories specified by each individual writing competition.

1. SHORT STORY: 2,000 Words Maximum
2. POETRY: 20 Lines Maximum
3. ARTICLES: 2,000 Words Maximum
4. SCRIPT: First 15-Page Segment of a Script - i.e., play, screenplay, or radio script)
   Adaptations will not be accepted. Manuscripts exceeding the designated word or page limitation, will be disqualified.

2. Each entry should be submitted individually in a separate envelope, which should be addressed to the appropriate editor -- i.e., Fiction Editor, Script Editor, etc.
3. Each entry should be original, unpublished, unproduced and not accepted for publication by any other producer or publisher upon submission. E.F.S. reserves  the right to publish the first place and grand prize winning entries via the terms of its online and/or traditional – i.e., hard copy -- publishing contracts.
4. Each entry must be typed on one side of 8½ X 11 white paper. Scripts and poetry may be either double or single-spaced; short stories and articles should be double-spaced.
5. Type your name, address, telephone number, word count, and competition category (Short Story, Script, Article, or Poetry) in the top left-hand corner of the first page only of the entry. Failure to do so will result in disqualification of the entry.
6. All entries must be accompanied by an official entry form or facsimile. Each entry must be accompanied by the appropriate entry fee via check or money order (in U.S. funds) made payable to E.F.S., or via credit card payment authorization.
7. Entries must be stapled.
8. Since manuscripts will not be returned, please do not enclose a SASE. Do not submit the original copy your manuscript. Instead, send a good-quality photocopy.
9. Entries must be postmarked by midnight of the deadline of the corresponding competition. Winners will be notified 2-4 months following the competition's deadline. We cannot acknowledge receipt of manuscripts.
